Chapel Christmas Story Drive-Through

=========================================

Please note the schedule change for Sunday service on November 29:  There will be one service only, at 10:00 am.  The service will be streamed here on YouTube.  There will be no in-person attendance on those dates.  Sunday School is cancelled until further notice.

Advent begins today.  Volunteers are needed for the Chapel's traditional Advent readings.  Whether you are single or part of a large family, with children or without, young or of more advanced years - all are encouraged to participate.  See Wednesday's mid-week email for the link to sign up.

Three openings are remaining for the Chapel Christmas Story Drive Through: Mary & Elizabeth; The Wise Men; and Simeon, Anna, & Baby Jesus. Life-sized (or nearly so) scenes will depict various moments in the Nativity story.  This is a great project to do together as a family.  More details are available here.  Please call Mary Glover if you would like to participate.  If you've already signed upclick here for a list of props available while designing your scene. Props will be available in the Fellowship Hall from Monday, November 30 - Thursday, December 10.

December issues of Our Daily Bread and Daily Walk are now available in the foyer.

Planning an activity at the Chapel?  Don't forget to call the office and get it on the Chapel campus calendar.  Our buildings are put to good use throughout the week and we want to avoid any scheduling conflicts.

If you missed the deadline to bring a shoebox gift for Operation Christmas Child to the Chapel, it's not too late to participate.  Go here to pack a box online.  In just a few clicks you can select toys and other items to include in your box, plus you have the option of including a photo and a note to the recipient. An invitation to attend a Bible study at a local church will also be included in your gift box.

Are you receiving the Chapel mid-week email on Wednesdays?  It's the best way to keep up with what's happening at the Chapel. If you would like to be added to the list and begin receiving the latest news and updates, email your request to cbtscommunications@gmail.com, or call 345-4424.

Greenhouse helpers are needed over the winter months to keep our plants healthy.  The work is simple and requires a minimal time investment.  If you would like to help, please contact Lisa Wharton.

Real About Addiction, a Christian organization working with addicts in Anchorage, is collecting items for the homeless living on the streets.  Donations of new and gently used coats, blankets, warm socks, handwarmers, or other winter clothing can be left in the box in the Chapel foyer.

Griefshare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences.  You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.  If you are grieving, or know someone who is, GriefShare will meet in the Haven each Sunday at 3:00 pm through December .  For more information, contact Karen Casassa.

Perspectives is a discipleship course that serves to help the local church mobilize their people to become strategically engaged in God's global perspectives within their community and abroad.  Perspectives will take you on a 15-week journey looking in-depth at the biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic aspects of God's global plan to reconcile every nation, tribe, people, and tongue to himself.  The next Perspectives course will be Sundays 3 - 6 pm, January 23 - May 24, 2001, at  ACF Church in Eagle River.  Go here for more information or to register.

Don't wait until next spring to update your information for the Chapel directory.  Submit new listings, update your information, and add your birthday and anniversary here.  The 2020-21 Chapel Directory is now available.  See Wednesday's email for a link to the pdf version.  If you would prefer a paper copy, please call the Chapel office (345-4424) and we'll get a copy ready for you.  Only one paper copy per household, please.

To submit a prayer request, please email both chapeloffice@gci.net and cbtscommunications@gmail.com.  Emailed requests are preferred to ensure accuracy, but if you can't email please call Mary at the Chapel office, 345-4424, or her cell phone, 538-4403.

Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...
