The ideal situation would be to stop everyhing for a few months and build this entire plan. If the Lord provides all the finances needed at once, then that will be the obvious option.
Likely we'll need to build a phase at a time. Working extensively in prayer and with our architect, we've presented a phasing plan designed to create the best workflow and least interruption of church life as we move forward.
Phasing starts with maximizing the use of existing facilities, which was a major point that came to our attention a result of a 24-hour prayer thrust we dedicated to this project in September 2003. It continues with a new auditorium and worship center, a new Christian Education facility, and ends with a high-energy activity space, such as what would serve AWANA ministry or other action-packed gatherings.
The following explains the phasing plan:
(Here's a look at the fellowship schematic. which is part of the Fellowship/Worship Phase.)
The good news is that the fellowship part of the phase came in at around $283,000, considerably less than the estimated amount of over $420,000.
This phase is completed!
The phasing was adjusted as a result of congregational input and delliberation and prayer by the elders. We hope to soon have updated drawings to show you.
